About BioArt Lab
Established in Spring 2023, BioArt Lab at Penn was started as a student-run initiative at the University of Pennsylvania that explores the intersection of art, science, and community impact. Through partnerships with local Philadelphia schools, BioArt Lab designs and hosts interactive, hands-on workshops that spark creativity and curiosity. Our mission is to foster a collaborative space that introduces students to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) through artistic expression and scientific discovery.

Beginning with a biology classroom at The Workshop School , we have expanded our outreach to designing and hosting a 6-week after-school program focusing with the Henry C. Lea Elementary School in partnership with the Netter Center for Community Partnerships. In total, we have reached >80 students and hosted >20 custom-designed workshops.
